Jean,

I have no "magic bullet" answers, but since you have had no other replies yet let me suggest some things.  Also, please post a reply
detailing what did work when it finally does  ;).

(1) Try checking and updating the video drivers.  I have had particular issues with ATI cards in various situations before.

(2) Check IRQ sharing.  Although Win98SE is supposed to be very good at automatically doing this correctly, it will crash if storage
devices share IRQs - and network interfaces are considered storage devices.   It is possible that the NIC is sharing an IRQ with
your video, and based on what I know I could see this causing an instant blue screen. Note this is only a theory; I have no firm
data or in-depth knowledge to back up that opinion.

(3) Attempt to remove *everything* about VNC from the WIn9x machine - including going in and clearing out all of the user and
machine keys for Software\ORL - and reinstalling.  This may eliminate a couple of quirky values.
