vnc viewer fails but java client OK

Can anyone help me with this please:
My vnc client (ie the viewer) has mysteriously stopped working: the
server is on another PC on the LAN. I get the 'failed to connect to
server' error.
I can access it using the java client (http://192.168.0.14:5805), but
not on the vnc viewer client, (192.168.0.14:5)
I can telnet to the server machine on port 5905.
I'm convinced the problem is on my own (Win2k) PC as I cannot access
other VNC servers using the viewer either, including my own PC's one
(whereas I can using java).
As I say, it was working fine, but now it has stopped, and I haven't
(knowingly) made any changes to my own PC.
Any thoughts on how I can solve this (or at lease diagnose the problem
further) would be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
