Scrolling in full screen mode

I am using tightVNC.

The scrolling in full screen mode seems much faster in the horizontal direction than in 
the vertical direction. Is there any way to make the viewer scroll in larger steps?  Or 
maybe configure in both directions how many pixels to "jump" when scrolling?

I am viewing on a slow computer (P120) on a LAN.
