Hi,
I have recently built three Mandrake 8.2 PC's and have installed VNC 3.3.3r2-9 client and server on all three.
On all three I can start vncserver but only on two of them can I connect using 'vncviewer -shared <machinename>:1'
On the third I get a "vncviewer: VNC server closed connection" message
Or if I try to connect from a browser I get a "Page cannot be diplayed" message.
The server log file gives lots of "Refused connection from client <ip_address>" messages but no real sense of where the problem lies.
The beginning of the log file goes;
09/08/02 12:19:44 Xvnc version 3.3.3r2+tight1.1p9

09/08/02 12:19:44 See http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc for information on VNC
09/08/02 12:19:44 Desktop name 'X' (machine.name.com:1)
09/08/02 12:19:44 Protocol version supported 3.3
09/08/02 12:19:44 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5901
09/08/02 12:19:44 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5801
09/08/02 12:19:44 URL http://machine.name.com:5801
Everything looks OK.
I'm stumpted!
TIA
Steve
