vncviewer "failed to connect..."

	Heya. This sounds like an AuthHosts problem/feature. Is
there a registry entry for AuthHosts on the VNC server? You can
use this entry to restrict the IP addresses which can connect to
your VNC server, and I believe it fails those connections after
the password prompt.
