german input locale

Hi all,

Can anyone reproduce the following problem?  In Win2000 set the german
input locale, connect to a linux vncserver, in any X-window enter a ^
(circumflex sign, you will have to press the key in the upper left key
on the keyboard. richt beside the 1-key, above tab) On my machine the
^ appears twice. The US input locale for example does not have that
problem.

Does anyone know how to fix that.
