WinVNC on a W2K Server

Anthony, what is the hardware of the server you are trying to do this on?
I have found that older servers cannot use VNC due to the limit of the
maximum resolution the server can handle.
I have a Win2K server on an old HP LD Pro that cannot run timbuk2 or VNC
because the maximum res is VGA. Although I have not been able to confirm
this with the developers of VNC, I have confirmed this with timbuk2.
Food for thought.
Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Dietmar,
Sorry for the misleading error message box. It wasn't "VNC
Authentication failed!" but "Connection Closed".
I did what you suggested but to no avail. I ran the "show deafult
settings" and entered the password and I used the Service Helper in the
system tray to enter the same password.
Regards.
Tony

Hi Everyone,
I've had no trouble installing WinVNC on a Windows 2000 Server, but when
I try to access it from my Windows 2000 Workstation, it pops up with the
VNC Authentication Box, requesting for the session password. On entering
the correct session password (trust me), it returns with the message VNC
Authentication failed!.
Any suggestion/ideas on how to overcome this snag, are welcome and
appreciated.
Regards.
Tony
