Establishing an open connection.

I am hoping someone might have a workable solution to the problem of getting
an open connection from a Win 2K server.

The server is an HP Netserver LD and is currently running Windows 2K and the
version of VNC is 3.3.3r9.
 
I suspect that it may have to do with the max. video resolution that the
server hardware can support, however I would greatly appreciate
any information or alternative solutions I could try.
