VNCViewer scrollbars on Linux

I am using the VNCViewer on Linux to view  a desktop on my machine at work. 
The desktop is 1024x768 - my local X Display is 1280x1024. When I start the 
viewer the window is indeed 1024x768 - but the VNC scrollbars mean I can't 
see the whole VNCDesktop. I can't resize the VNCWindow - I can only make it 
smaller - not larger.

I am using 3.3.3r2 on SUSE 7.2 Linux .. the server is 3.3.3r2 on SUSE Linux 
7.3 - and I am connecting using SSH tunneling.

Any clues? I couldn't find anything in the archives/
