NT 4 logon problem

hi, is there any way to view client on a NT 4 network, before it is logged on, 

i tried running the vnc as a service on both pc's and started the services, 

and i was also logged on as administrator on both server and client, & have

my vnc password set, i still get a connection closed! error when the client pc

isn't logged on, is there anything i can do about that? I would greatly appreciate any help you guys have,
