Tuning Performance checkboxes ?

Want to make a bet? I've had complaints lately from the VNC users here that
one Linux application (Borland Kylix) has stopped updating properly unless
they poll the full screen. I can't for the life of me figure out what could
have changed. The problem is that when they move the window, the text in
the window does not refresh properly and is garbled until the next full
screen refresh.

In general, the more polling you do, the worse your performance will be.
However, with less polling, sometimes the display does not update
correctly. This is most obvious in programs like Internet Explorer that
blit directly to your video card, or some such nonsense. I am obligated
to remind you that this is a non-issue on UNIX systems. ;-)
