xinetd & ipv6?

I'm running RedHat 7.0 and xinetd 2.1.8.9pre11, the services appears to be 
configured correctly, but whenever i try to vnc into the box i get an 
"invalid protocol" so i assumed it was because xinetd supports ipv6. Did a 
xinetd -d and sure enough it says Protocol (name,number) = (tcp,6). Go and 
download the trusty old sources and compile without the IPV6 switch. I'm 
still getting the same error. As anyone else experienced this problem?
