File transfer capabilities

Dear James Pifer,

dear VNC gurus and users,

admittedly, I'm very happy VNC does _not_ have file transfer
capabilites. For file transfers, other tools (such as scp, included
in the OpenSSH package) are available (thanks to RedHat, even on the
platform that comes from Redmond). As for VNC, its use in a remote
maintenance setup (for machines crushing medical information) to allow
for full control of those who work remotely by those who have to make
sure private data is not accessed critically depends on its design
(transport "visual" data, i.e., screen displays, and user interaction
[keyboard, mouse], nothing else).

Just my 2 cents...

Best wishes,

Yours,

Ernst
