Hi,
I'm attempting to access a desktop using Java based client,
but under conditions without any success.
I have tested the connection to the server with various settings,
but I didnt find the root of the problem.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to make accessible a desktop at my work for clients
logging in from given places in the world outside of the VPN,
where this PC is located.
I installed succesfully the VNC 3.3.3R9 on this
machine (Win95, display 0. local IP address: 10.192.192.110 in the VPN)
behind the VPN box. I defined and opened a static public IP address
one-to-one NAT) and the "Web (HTTP)" service with port range 80, 5800-5999
and the protocol TCP(6) in the box for it.
>From home (Win98,IE5,cable modem behind an ISP) I tried to connect
to the workstation desktop in question (http://publicIP:5800/).
But without using any proxy server I cannot access the VNC server.
Only when I enable the proxy service for my browser,
succeed in downloading the password dialog,
I'm then prompted for the password to login.
But when I type in the password I receive the following message:
"java.net.NoRouteToHostException: Operation timed out"
Why this happens?
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Szabolcs
