Yes.  Here's how I do it...

First, bear in mind that I installed VNC in a "non-global" way.  I did this because I want
to provide multiple sessions each owned by a particular user.  You may have to modify
these steps a bit if you're not doing the same thing.

Look for /usr/dt/bin/Xsession.  You should have it if the CDE desktop's been installed
on your Solaris box.  If it's there:
     1. cd to your $HOME/.vnc dir (or if you've only got one "global" instance of VNC set up,
         cd to the .vnc dir under that structure.)
     2. Save your current xstartup file to some new filename.
     3. Make a link called "xstartup" from your .vnc dir to the Xsession script:
          "ln -s /usr/dt/bin/Xsession xstartup"

The next session you start up should show the CDE desktop.
