You should modify your "vncserver"-script or your "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup"-script?
If you modify only "vncserver" you will have to remove "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup".
"vncserver" will then create a new one containing the modifications you made
there. If you modify only "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup" nobody else will profit of the
modification.
Here the modifications I made:

Hi
Ive only just started using vnc and have the server running on both WNT and
Solaris.
When running the Xvnc server on Solaris is there anyway a pc client can
display the Solaris Common Desktop Environment?
I currently get a single xterm and what looks like the Openwindows
interface.
