NT VNC viewer won't run

vncviewer works fine on our macs & Linux and w98, but not on NT. The
viewer app runs briefly, does its dialogs and then hangs around for ~10s
and then terminates. And that's it. No error messages from either
vncviewer or windows gpf. What's going on?
