Screen disappears after 10 seconds

I am running a Win2000 PC connecting to a Win2000 server.  I have a
Checkpoint firewall with ports 5800 and 5900 open.  I connect successfully,
the screen gets painted, then within 5-10 seconds, the session completely
disappears.  I did not find anything about this in the FAQs.  Any thoughts?
