KDE on Redhat 7.1

Hi,
I've been used to useing XVnc on redhat 6.2 and 7.0 and putting kde into my
xstartup. I've just installed redhat 7.1 and when I try and use vnc with kde
now all I get is a blank blue screen. A look in the log file shows

Xlib:  extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0".

which i'm guessing may be the cause of it.  I know very little about X, but
i'm gussing that kde is using a new extension that vnc doesn't support yet?
Can anyone confirm this or let me know what my problem is? or even better a
solution!  (my current one is going to be try using gnome or a previous
version of kde...)
