Client drops problem

Hi,
 
We use VNC (NT server and clients v. 3.3.3r7) generally without any
problems. Occasionally though, when the network is laggy, the client just
dies -- we are speculating it may be due to the latency, but are not sure.
We can reconnect without problems (e.g., the server has not crashed), but
again when the network is slow, the client drops again.
 
Is there someway to configure to improve this? Increase some timeout
setting?
