Sounds just like my problem. Just found out that port 58xx is for the
java-script, port 59xx for the vnc session. Does your ras server pass
through port 59xx ???

Betreff: revisited: problems with authorisation, session password

Hello, again,

My problem has not gone away. In my first post, I wrote:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have a freshly installed and configured SuSE Linux 7.0 (kernel 2.2.17-pre)
with which I successfully access the internet via isp and dial into work
through our RAS server. I have even used the Netscape browser to connect to
my
NT machine's WinVNC (3.3.3R2) service, log in and use the system almost as
if
I were there. The vncviewer 3.3.3, however, fails to authenticate the
session
password which is exactly the same one I typed in for the browser session.
No,
caps lock was not on. As a matter of fact, everything was exactly the same
during each session login. They were even attempted during the same RAS
connection.

I thought it might be helpful to compile it myself, so I downloaded,
configured, compiled and installed it. The problem is exactly the same; the
X
dialog box for the session password pops up, I type in the password that
works
in the session I can establish with Netscape and the authentication is
denied.

I have also tried to change the password mode from X dialog to tty and also
tried to use a password file I generated with vncpasswd. I *always* get the
dialog box. I've tried using the X resources and the command-line switches.

Please, somebody, open my eyes. Arnt?
