Could you please explain exactly what is going on with this thread? It was
extremely useful to me as it fixed exactly what problem I was having, but didn't
have the time to ask. What I would like to know is why this works, and why it's
necessary. The one thing that I had noticed on my system was the icons on the
Gnome Panel looked fine at 16bpp, but the desktop icons and the window frames
were all messed up. How does this tie into how using pixelformat makes a
difference?
