As mentioned in a previous post, the FAQ does mention this restriction.
Also, the restriction is described in a technical manner in the "RFB
Protocol Specification" PDF in the Documentation area of the website.
There's no technical reason why we couldn't agree to implement another
authentication scheme which would allow longer passwords, but it would take
a little while to gain acceptance and user base.
