well...here's something i just found out... when you verify the two command
lines for the WinVNC.exe

1) the target of the shortcut(start menu) looks like this: "c:\program
files\orl\vnc\WinVNC.exe" -servicehelper

2)the registry entry in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
looks like this: "c:\program files\orl\vnc\WinVNC.exe" -servicehelper"

the difference is the " at the end of #2...could that make any difference ?

btw... i just rebooted the machine again and the icon still doesnt come up,
i can connect to the service, means the service is running... just normal

It seems to me as when the run-command in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ doesnt execute ???

When i run servicehelper through start menu...it pops up
