BTW, that is more-or-less what LiVE does (http://live.amirix.com). I
only have redhat 6.0 installed at the moment, but potentially can run a
variety
But LiVE uses VMWARE. I gather you would prefer to stay with GPL code?
I got a polite email from VMWARE folks saying my LiVE project was
breaking the VMWARE license, but they don't mind, as it is just a
"technology demo". The joys of using non-GPL software!

Seems like an interesting approach. Not clear to me if it is
faster/better than fixing the network card emulation...???
