The should be in the archives of this list with more specifics.
VNC is TCP/IP only, if you both have a connection to the Internet
(you can ping each other) you can connect, just have her start the
vncserver (winvnc on a PC) put in her IP address or DNS hostname and
go. She can get her IP address from winipconfig on a Win9x box,
ipconfig on a NT/2000 box, or from her tcp/ip control panel on a mac.
On a PC do not belive the hostname that these tools will give you, it
is likely not your DNS hostname.
Direct dialin is not supported (unless one of you is running some
kind of PPP server). For that, and file transfer, multiple
usernames, etc you need to look at PCAnywhere, Timbuktu or a number
of other commercial remote control applications.
