Mac OS8.6 Server hangs (Newbee)

Mac Server  to Linx or Win95 Client.

The screen of the Mac paints properly on the client after the login. 
However, the Mac image on the client screen freezes the first time 
there is a change to the Mac.  The cursor continues to track and 
execute commands properly on the Mac even though they cannot be seen 
on the client.  Am I doing something wrong?
