Help needed with iXvnc

Greetings,
Let me first state my goal in that I would like to have the user connect to the
RH6.x box and see the gdm logon (I am assuming this is possible). So I
downloaded the source and compiled the patches into the Xvnc to make it iXvnc.
I have also made the required changes to /etc/services and inetd.conf files.
Below is an exert from the /usr/adm/X99msgs file after I try to connect (in
which case I just get the cursor and a grey screen at the client):

this then repeats itself incrimenting the port by one for a long amount of time.
Thoughts welcome on how to solve.
