Hello Jonathan,
I actually did read the docs. If you look at the html doc
AboutVNCServer.html, the Quick Start section says:
"Double Click VNC Server Installer
Restart Machine
Open VNC Controls control panel (or select Options from
the server's File menu)
Set password for display 0
Press Okay, then double click VNCServer"
Note the order: Open the Control Panel BEFORE starting the server.
However, what I had to do to make it work was (after installing
and restarting):
1. Run the server.
2. Quit the server. The preferences file gets written at this point.
3. Open the Control Panel and modify the settings.
4. Run the server (again).
It works now. Thanks for the help.
