VNC Server for Macintosh beta-2.3 [alpha?] now posted

I've posted the beta-2.3 code up at http://chromatix.autistics.org/vnc/
where it is available for download.  However, it is not yet stable on NuBus
PowerMacs - I've been crashing my 8100 twice an hour trying to fix it for
the past two days...  People who live behind webcaches may find that the
beta-2.2 code has been cached and the beta-2.3 code is inaccessible (I
found this happened to myself, of all things - ugh!).  I suggest a) waiting
a day or so and b) hassling your sysadmin.

If anyone has immediate problems with it, let me know.  Apart from this, I
will be tearing out large sections of the beta-2.3 code and replacing it
ready for beta-2.5 (or so).  The old (beta-2.2) code is still posted in the
same location for those of you who have problems with beta-2.3 (i hope not
- - it should be MORE stable on both NuBus and PCI, although not perfect).

The main thrust for beta-2.5 will be to replace the update-parsing code -
the part that links the OS-interacting, networking and encoding algorithms.
Frankly, it's a mess just now and it needs a complete rewrite in that area.
With any luck this should result in greater functionality (CopyRect, RRE
and CoRRE will start working), better performance (possibly at the expense
of server CPU, but this should be negligible) and improved stability (more
interrupt-tolerant and avoidant).

In addition, I hope to integrate the VNC Controls interface into the main
Server, provide some extra stats on that interface, and make a stab at
fixing the modifier-keys problem.  Who knows, I might even get it to work
on 68K :).
