Hiya,
I've released a version of of new ATL based VNCX (VNC ActiveX control) as an
experimental release. It's stable, but not 'carved in stone', and I have
not yet had a chance to actually write documentation on all the juicy
methods and features I've added.
This time round I've also actually written a Viewer using MFC (rather than
VB) that uses VNCX. It's also experimental, but is stable as appropriate
for use.
For those who have been following VNCX. The new release has the following
features (which the new Viewer (Viewer32) takes advantage of).
Stretch/Zooming
Scrollbars (includes AutoScrolling)
MouseTrapping
Alignment (when control is bigger than framebuffer)
Fine grain control over sending events/mouse/keys
ZLib support (using the same scheme that Warren Tooney used)
Picture property - Compatible with VB's Picture control
The control has lots of new methods and event you can play around with, most
of them are pretty obvious and don't require documentation to understand if
you use something like VB to explore the events and properties.
This version of VNCX doesn't have the dependency/dll problems of the
pervious (now dead) release, and registers nicely on a vanilla install of
WIndows 95. The Viewer however requires updated MFC and common control
libraries.
Viewer32 supports Zoooming, Fullscreen (zoomed fullscreen),
Installation is described on my site (no installshield :\), so if anyone out
there is brave enough to have a go at installing VNCX & Viewer32, I'd
appreciate it :). They're both jammed packed with cool features to
playwith.
Read and download them from here.
