would you only have to do this on the client machine (win98se), or the
server (win2k) as well?

in win98 se you can specify a static ip address to be used I'm sure you can
do the same on win2000, do a quick search on MS Technet web site for the
word ICS you will find your answer
Has anyone been able to get VNC to work with Windows 2000 with a shared
network? I've tried everything so far but have failed. Our local network
is based on a Windows 2000 machine with internet connection sharing. I've
been able to get it to work if trying to access from our network. To get it
to work from an external source, I've mapped the necessary ports through
ICS. However, ICS begins to change my local address when people try to
access the vnc server. One minute I'll be located at 192.168.0.2 and a
minute later i'll be 192.168.0.148, thus preventing any access to my vnc
server. Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike
