VNC Server on MS Proxy

I don't know if this will help or not, but you can use the Winsock Proxy
client to do this without packet filtering I think. Just create a
WSPCFG.INI file in the directory you run WinVNC.exe from, and add the
following lines:

[WinVNC]
ServerBindTcpPorts=5925,5825
Persistent=1
KillOldSession=1

Now, granted this is assuming VNC is using TCP and not UDP, something I have
no clue about, so this may not work at all. (Hehe, you could always try
ServerBindUdpPorts??) You may have to restart the computer to get this
working.  I hope it helps.

Yes 5925 not port 25 or not -25.

I am somewhat confused by all the options in MS Proxy. I have read that I
must open port 59xx (5925 in my case) for vnc and 58xx (5825 in my case) for

the HTTP for the Java VNC stuff.

SBS Server with 2 NICs VNC server running on the SBS Server. One NIC is
for the Private Network (w/ private IP scheme) and one NIC is for the
Internet (w/ a static IP) and connected to a ADSL Router (bridged to ISP).
I
understand the security risks involved and still need to move forward.

MS Proxy gives me the following options under the Packet Filtering then
"Add" new exception Dialog Box:

Protocol Type - TCP / UDP / ICMP
Direction - In / Out / Both

Local Port
  - Any
  - Fixed Port (Give Port)
  - Dynamic Port

Remote Port
  - Any
  - Fixed Port (Give Port)

Local Host
  - Default proxy external IP address
  - Specific Proxy IP address (Give IP Address)
  - Internal Computer (Give IP Address)

Remote Host
  - Single Host (Give IP Address)
  - Any Host

I set up 2 filters as:

*** Filter 1 ***
Protocol - TCP
Direction - In

Local Port
  - Fixed Port (5925)

Remote Port
  - Any

Local Host
  - Default proxy external IP address

Remote Host
  - Any Host

*** Filter 2 ***
Same as filter 1 except...

Local Port
  - Fixed Port (5925)

Please advise whether I seem to have a grasp of this or whether I'm lost and

missing the boat.

Thanks.
