Time and time again I have seen many a reply to enqiries
about the tray icon, occupying considerable bandwidth
basically telling the person to

"go away and don't bother us".

Please people if you are annoyed with the person for asking
the question then reply to them personally, it is not necessary
to send it to the list.

However I guess the writer wouldn't get the same satisfaction
of flamming someone if its not in "public".

Remember the easiest way to lower your blood pressure is to
delete the question before opening.

Now I am finally going to add my bit on the icon.

There is a old winvnc that has the tray icon removed and is
available on the net in two forms

vnc-3_3_2r6_x86_win32_notray.zip
contains WinVNC.exe, VNCHooks.dll, omnithread_rt.dll

and

vnc-3_3_2r6_winsrc_notray.zip
contains source code

unfortunately I can't remember where they came from but they
are out there. How you wish to use them is your business.

Whether it is better to announce that a computers usage is
being monitored by the tray icon or by some other means is
an issue to be dealt with by an organisation/institution.

have a nice day
