Off topic--- DoS attacks

I am sorry that this is off the VNC topic but I feel like you guys really
know your stuff and need some guidance.. Please forgive me. 

I have also been receiving what looks like DoS attacks against my firewall
using PSH ACK packets. I don't have much experience with tracking down the
sources of such attacks if there is any.  Any explainations besides hacking?


Can anyone suggest a good tool to use for this or some Whitepaper to learn
more about security and my firewall.
