Phil,

Thanks for the help that utility seems to done the trick.  Even though I
don't ICS installed on the laptop, I can connect to it via the Internet now.

The util you search for is, I believe, NetStat, which will show you the
ports currently oopen and their status.

As for your connection problems, this definately sounds like a firewall
problem, Try enabling the access to port 5900 (VNC default) or the port
that you might have changed it to.
