This is a follow up on my previous message about combinining
xdm and Xvnc (which I guess must be of interest to many people).

I switched from xdm and kdm and got it working by
adding the line

:2 local /usr/local/bin/Xvnc -depth 15 -geometry 800x600 :2

to /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers (on a RH 6.0) system.

It works EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING GLITCH which seems to produce a
crash of Xvnc (version 3.3.3r1).

(1) Login.
(2) Logout.

Now the login screen comes up again but the viewer and the server
seem to be out of sync in the sense that the viewer only updates
if the mouse moves.

(3) Quit the viewer.

Now Xvnc quits! Since apparently kdm restarts the server, things are not
bad, but this still seems to be a bug, since I don't think that an
action in the viewer is allowed to crash the server.

This behaviour was observed with both the W32 viewer and the X11 viewer.

Is there anybody else who observed a similar behaviour? Are there
people who got kdm (or xdm) working properly with Xvnc?

Regards,
Michel
