Disable wallpaper with WinVNC

I have been doing some thorough testing of WinVNC this week, mostly in the way of network traffic, but I have also been testing out performance in certain senarios.  One thing I have noticed is that if a user has a wallpaper on their PC, performance drops significantly.  Has anybody done any work with making an API call in the WinVNC code to disable the wallpaper when connected?  This is something I want to implement, but if someone has already done this then it would make my life easier.
