Can't start 1st video screen

Yes, you're right. I needed to say that if I type 'vncserver', the system
starts the next available screen (or 3rd). On this machine, it starts
process 2 (not 1). But if I look in '/root/.vnc' subdirectory, I don't see
any pid's. Even if I search for all pid's on the machine, there are none
that apply to VNC. Nor is there an 'Xvnc' process running.
So here's what happened (just now).
1) vncserver is running as :2
2) type vncserver -kill :2
3) the system reports that process ID 13273 was terminated
4) type vncserver -kill :1
5) the system reports with the below noted error
6) type vncserver
7) the system reports that it started :3
8) check for all entries in '/root/.vnc/', I find that there are -
passwd
xxxxx.yyyyy.zzz:2.log
xxxxx.yyyyy.zzz:3.log
xstartup
da . . . . What am I missing?
