Grey Screen with cursor only!!!

Initially I would like to thank all who write and reply to the mail list.
I have been through the listing before I write this.

I have set-up VNC on Solaris, NT, 98 and Linux.
Initially these platforms were to access NT, so with winVNC I had no
problems.

Now the scenario has changed and I need to access all systems.

In testing with Caldera 2.4, all I get is a grey screen and standard X
cursor.
I have done this with all environments.

I know that it is server related, probably within the vncserver script
calling a process that I cannot locate.
I have followed the script and it is processed, but alas I still cannot so
beyond grey!

Please if anyone could point me toward a solution I would really appreciate
it.
