not authorized to connect to server

I am trying to set up vnc with an AIX server and Windows 95 client.
I can send windows to the viewer only when I kick them off from the AIX
machine that the server is running on.
When I send a window from anywhere else I get the X error message:

client is not authorized to connect to server

Just like you get when you need to run "xhost +" in AIX windows. But, in
this case, xhost + does not help <sigh>.

Anybody know what I need to do?  Thanks,
