Linux/Windows Solution

Hi,

I have used linux in the past, but am currently using Windows 98 SE. I want
to put linux back on this workstation for a variety of reasons, but i still
would like to run a few windows apps.

The best thing I can find to do this is VMWare, which is a great app, BUT I
can not use this in it's normal state. It's VERY inefficient to have all of
your linux X apps running in your window manager, and then having to go to
your vmware window with the win98 interface and using the windows apps from
in there. It's like having tw computers, which technically it is, but that
just don't work well for me. I want my windows apps to work along with all
of my other apps.

The only thing I can conjure up is running the apps remotely on linux
through vmware, much in the same way that you can run apps on a linux box on
any x server anywhere on the network. VNC is cool in that the entire
windows desktop can be remotely operated, but I was wondering if there was
any way to make it work with only particular apps instead of the whole
desktop. Or if there is any other software for what I'm trying to do,
that'd be great also.

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you for your time,
M. J. Gallop
