ZLib compression isn't part of the official VNC RFB protocol yet, which is
likely why his viewer doesn't support it, but it is easily added by using
either SSH (directions on the VNC website, look in the FAQ) or by using
Zebedee:

Requires no code changes to VNC, no downloading of unofficial patches or
execs, and it's very simple to set up (much simpler than SSH). It even
provides encryption too. And it's open source.
Actually, I'd like to recommend that a reference to it be placed in the FAQ
alongside the SSH references, since it is easier for the average person to set
up and SSH (that is, if it isn't there already, I haven't looked in a while
but it wasn't there the last time I checked).
