vnc key 5 question

On the 6th February, someone posted saying "look into the /etc/inputrc
file" on this topic.  Apparently something maps the 5 key to the wrong
setting, and if you set the right mapping in that file it corrects the
problem.  However, I have no idea what the correct mapping is.
