can't connect to server???

Hello All,
I'm new to the list, and desperately need the advise of an expert.  I
have VNC successfully running as a server on one of my home LAN machines
(all Windows 98).  However, the second machine I want to access can't be
found, I get an error saying that the server can't be found.  The
network is functioning and all machines can be pinged.  In fact, the
server machine that can't be accessed can see other machines when using
VNCviewer.  The only difference in this machine from the others is that
it has a Cyrix processor.  Any ideas?  TIA.
