Charlie and Jonathan,
For a number of reasons, we have decided to use our 7.6.1 system for
testing only. I am now trying to use a MacOS 9.0 G4 system to build
VNC for MacOS. Code Warrior Pro 5.0 is installed and I am using
MacCVS Pro 2.5 to interact with our CVS server.
BTW, 130100a VNC Beta is letting me access the system from a Solaris
VNC viewer over SSH. There was one lockup, which I can not
reproduce.
The upgrade from CW 4.0 to CW 5.0 includes rearranging the
"MacOS Support" folder to some extent. Primarily I had to alter
the "Universal Headers" system access path. At least I did so
because the CW project conversion process complained that it
could not find those headers, which are in fact now in a different
folder.
It appears that many of the projects in the source distribution
rely on the "Version PostLinker". So, I am attempting to build
that first.
There are three files which CW 5.0 is complaining it can not find during
the build:
PluginLib.ppc
DropInCompilerLinker.h
CWPluginErrors.h
Is there some type of SDK, maybe a plugin SDK, that I have to install
before I can build the "Version PostLinker"? I did not see anything
that looked related on the Apple SDK page:
http://developer.apple.com/sdk/index.html
I obtained the Universal Headers from Apple, but it appears that a
fairly recent version was included with CW. So I'll probably stick
with that until a reason to do otherwise arises. Sherlock did not
find any of the missing files in the latest Universal Headers from
Apple...
Is there any general documentation on building VNC for MacOS?
As you may have noticed, I'm not a Mac developer, at least not yet.
My apologies if some of these questions are lame.
