only 256 colors on the java client ?

Greetings all,

I'm using and enjoying vnc to view my Solaris on my PC monitor.
Everything works great when i'm using the vncviewer.

However, when i'm trying to use a web browser to connect to my Xvnc on
the Solaris station, i can't get more than 256 colors through the java
viewer.
No matter how the Xvnc is configured, the non java viewer always works
fine while the java viewer displays poor colors.

I've searched the mailing list and the faq, but found no answers.

Can anybody tell me how to get more than 256 colors out of the java
viewer ?
Is this a known bug or a missing feature, or am i missing something here
?
