using VNC with a monitor-less PC ?

Presently I work from an Alpha Unix workstation. I regularly access a Win NT
server with Citrix Wincenter (to do my word processing on my Unix screen).
I have also occasionally used VNC to echo the screen of some PC's to my Unix
screen (mainly for the purpose of capturing part of them in GIFs to be
included in some document, or for remote control of some equipment).
I am pretty well aware that VNC does *NOT* transform a PC in a multisession
machine (unlike Wincenter).
Now the team running the NT server announced their intention to discontinue
it sometimes in the future. I am not so keen to have a PC with a monitor on my
desk to do my wordprocessing (but I want to go on doing it with MS Word).
I wonder if I can get a PC without a monitor (and also without keyboard and
mouse), hide it under my desk, and connect to it via VNC from my Unix
workstation. (of course I could borrow a monitor and keyboard for the initial
configuration).
Please answer to my e-mail address Lucio Chiappetti <lucio "at" ifctr.mi.cnr.it>
as I am not a regular subscriber of this list. Can post a summary.
TIA
