Confused about registry activity

Running regmon here, I just get stuff every five seconds or so relating to
TCP/IP settings, so I think all the output you sent was just that.  That
shouldn't be causing any problems on your system.

The IE5 thing is odd.  Do you see the same effect if you log on as a
different user?  I had a similar problem once that seemed to be my user
profile being completely broken - random apps would keep accessing the
registry to find the paths of things that were nothing to do with them.
