Nasty. Have you tried running with minimal patches + VNC? Is this a 68k or PPC
machine?

Noted. Sadly this is not reproducable on my machines. If you can trace through
and find out exactly where things are going wrong, I'd be very grateful.

Oh dear.  Unacceptable behaviour on all counts. I'll look into it.

The server itself *should* generate a preferences file if it can't find one.

Problems I've seen with the 68k server seem to indicate that MDEFs, CDEFs, etc
are what cause most trouble. It seems that any code resource that uses patched
functions will go wrong in some way.

But, as the warning says, the 68k server is badly broken. I've only managed to
get it to produce VNC for about 3 mins before bad things happen.

I leave it for someone who has the time/ inclination/ experience to work out
why my 68k patches don't work. The file to concentrate on is vncPatches.c
